About the Opportunity
Bourke & District Children’s Services (BDCS) is looking for a full-time Capacity Facilitator based in Bourke, NSW.
The role is responsible for building the capacity of early childhood workers, supporting families, and enhancing service quality through professional development initiatives. The Capacity Facilitator will work collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure that early childhood services integrate cultural perspectives and meet community needs.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to early childhood educators to enhance their skills, confidence, and service delivery.
- Developing and implementing capacity-building initiatives to improve workforce capabilities and service quality in local early childhood education.
- Building and strengthening relationships with diverse staff, nearby community educators, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Engaging with local schools, government bodies, and Indigenous community leaders to enhance early childhood service delivery.
- Advocating for improved funding, resources, and support for early childhood education programs.
- Supporting families in accessing early childhood education and related services.
- Facilitating workshops, training sessions, and mentorship programs to enhance educator development and team performance.
- Collecting and analysing data to monitor and report on the impact of capacity-building initiatives.
- Ensuring the integration of Aboriginal perspectives into early childhood education, embedding cultural awareness and inclusivity in service delivery.

About You
To qualify, you will need a strong background in early childhood education, workforce development, or training facilitation, as well as previous experience in stakeholder engagement and mentoring educators or community workers.
Additionally, the following skills and qualifications will be highly valued:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education OR Diploma in Early Childhood Education (with extensive experience).
- Teaching qualifications or relevant qualifications in Social Work, Community Engagement, or Training & Assessment.
- Strong understanding of cultural perspectives in education and service delivery.
- An understanding of Aboriginal issues and the challenges faced by the community.
- Excellent relationship-building, project management, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Experience in report writing, data collection, and program evaluation.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess exceptional leadership and organisational skills, along with the flexibility to work collaboratively with families, community leaders, and educators.
The ability to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC) and police check is essential.
