About the Opportunity
Bourke & District Children’s Services (BDCS) is looking for a full-time Educational Service Director based in Bourke, NSW.
This is a rare leadership opportunity where you’ll take the reins to launch and lead a brand-new OSHC service from the ground up. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all daily operations, leading your team, and ensuring high-quality education and care aligned with national regulations.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Establishing and launching a brand-new after-school care service
- Providing relief support to other services (Preschool, Childcare, Mobile)
- Designing and implementing educational programs consistent with NQF, EYLF, and MTOP
- Leading staff including Diploma-qualified educators and support workers
- Managing budgets, enrolments, and rostering
- Ensuring compliance with National Law and Regulations
- Driving quality improvement and preparing for assessment and rating
- Building relationships with families, stakeholders, and the community

About You
To qualify, you will need an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification and to be eligible for appointment as Nominated Supervisor. A minimum of 3-5 years’ leadership experience in early childhood education or a related setting is also essential.
Additionally, the following are also required:
- ACECQA-approved First Aid, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis qualifications
- Child protection training
- Strong understanding of CCS, funding requirements, and compliance systems
- Operational expertise in enrolments, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Familiarity with WHS and child protection frameworks

This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a new service in a purpose-built facility with full support from an experienced team and access to the broader BDCS infrastructure.
You must hold or be eligible to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC), a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC), and a driver's licence.

About the Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of $140,000 to $160,000 (based on skills and experience), plus a comprehensive benefits package, including:

- Relocation assistance including up to 12 weeks accommodation in BDCS-provided housing

- 4 x return flights from Bourke to Dubbo - negotiable for the right candidate
