Salary range: $65,000 - $74,000 plus superannuation
About Bourke & District Children's Services (BDCS)
BDCS is a not-for-profit organisation located on the banks of the Darling River in Western NSW. We provide a range of services including a Childcare Centre, Preschool, Mobile Playgroup, and Toy Library.
We're a close-knit team committed to supporting local families and children. Our Administration team plays a key role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes-supporting staff, managing systems, and ensuring we stay on top of our compliance and funding obligations.
About the Role
You'll work closely with the Corporate Services Manager and contribute to everything from accounts processing and payroll to onboarding staff and ensuring our records and policies are kept up to date. It's a busy, varied role that suits someone who enjoys being organised and supporting others.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide general admin support including responding to emails, answering phones, checking mail, and managing supplies
- Assist with accounts payable, payroll processing, and financial reconciliation
- Coordinate onboarding, inductions, compliance checks and training records for staff
- Support HR processes including advertising, interviews and maintaining staff files
- Manage and maintain key systems (e.g. XERO, DEXT, Employment Hero, SharePoint, SmartSheet
- Ensure timely and accurate compliance reporting and policy reviews
- Organise funding claims, monitor contract documentation and support grant management
- Liaise with IT support, coordinate tech onboarding for new staff and manage data access
- Event coordination and general office upkeep

SELECTION CRITERIA
What We're Looking For:
- Excellent communication and organisation skills
- Experience with accounting software 'Xero', 'Dext', or 'Employment Hero' highly regarded, however not essential
- Experience with IT and Microsoft Office systems
- Proven high level attention to detail and accuracy, with the demonstrated ability to research, think analytically and plan work with proven problem-solving skills and the ability to apply knowledge and experience to issues to develop potential options and recommendations for their resolution
- Experience in a payroll would be highly regarded however not essential
- A high standard of customer service skills
Requirements for employment:
- A current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- A current Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (or willingness to obtain)
- First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (or willingness to obtain)
- Child Protection Training (or willingness to obtain)
